When applying for jobs before it was not very easy to find out a lot without doing some digging.  Now all you have to do is google the persons name to find out more information than you would want.  You can search on 123people.com to find info also.  Or you can go on facebook to see what the person is really like. 

Seth Godin wrote a post that got me thinking about all of this.

This is the day and age where what you say and what you do are going to be easier to sniff out.  If someone says that they are great and have accomplished all of these things you can check all of that out in a few minutes. 

So what does this mean to leaders in this day and age?  Leaders are going to have more pressure to be on their toes at all times.  What you say could be recorded on a phone and broadcast to millions of people in minutes. 

So do what you say you are going to do.  Don’t be someone you’re not and in every situation know that there could be someone watching.

Who needs police reports on people when you have the internet.  Realize both the positives of what this means to you as an employer.  And the negatives of what this means others can find out about you.
